NAB Claims Progress in Alleged PKR 8.5 Billion Corruption Case, Says Recovery Process Underway

Islamabad (HRNW): Pakistan’s National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has claimed a significant development in a case involving alleged financial irregularities linked to the Sindh government.

According to reports, a contractor who allegedly received PKR 8.5 billion through payments authorized by former Secretary Zameer Abbasi has agreed to return the amount in installments as part of the recovery process.

The reported development has raised serious questions regarding the disbursement, oversight, and accountability of public funds. Critics argue that if the payments were made in violation of legal or administrative procedures, those responsible should face not only financial recovery proceedings but also a comprehensive legal investigation and accountability under the law.

NAB has stated that the recovery process represents progress in the case, while further legal and investigative proceedings are expected to continue.
