Prince Andrew Released After Arrest Over Alleged Public Corruption

London (HRNW) – Prince Andrew, the younger brother of King Charles III, has been released after being arrested on suspicion of abusing public office.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, 66, was taken into custody over allegations that he passed classified government documents to the late US financier Jeffrey Epstein while serving as a trade representative. Police clarified that his release is “subject to further investigation,” and the arrest does not imply a conviction.

Thames Valley Police confirmed that the investigation into the allegations continues. The royal family stated that it will fully cooperate with authorities, and King Charles emphasized that the law must take its course. Prince Andrew has denied any wrongdoing and previously stepped down from all official royal duties due to his links with Epstein.

If formally charged and convicted, the offense of corruption in public office could carry a sentence of up to life imprisonment. Investigators are continuing to review evidence related to the case, which is not connected to any sexual abuse allegations.
