Dumper Association Threatens Strike Over Fuel Prices

HYDERABAD (HRNW): The All Truck Dumper Association has threatened to shut down goods transport operations if the prices of petroleum products are not reduced immediately.

Press Conference in Hyderabad

Speaking at a press conference in Hyderabad, the President of the All Truck Dumper Association stated that the continuous hike in petrol and diesel prices has severely crippled the goods transport industry.

The President dismissed the Sindh government’s discussions regarding subsidies for transporters as “pointless,” asserting that without a direct reduction in fuel prices, the industry cannot survive. He warned that if their demands are not met, all goods transport services will be suspended.

Petrol Pump Dealers Join the Protest

The threat comes alongside a similar ultimatum from the Pakistan Petroleum Pump Dealers Association. The Chairman of the Dealers Association stated in a recent briefing that the current profit margin set by the government is unsustainable.

The Chairman warned that if the dealers’ margin is not increased to reflect rising costs, they will be forced to shut down petrol pumps across the country.
