President and Bilawal Bhutto Pay Tribute to Zulfikar Ali Bhutto on 47th Death Anniversary

Karachi (HRNW)- The President of the State has said in his special message on the occasion of the 47th death anniversary of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto that today the entire nation is paying tribute to its great leader.

The President said that according to the opinion of the Supreme Court, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto did not get a fair trial, and many legal requirements were ignored in this case.

According to the court’s observations, the right to appeal was also affected in the Bhutto case. The President, while describing the 1973 Constitution as a major achievement of the Bhutto era, said that this Constitution is still the guarantor of the democratic foundations of the country, justice and the rule of law must be ensured at all costs.

The President said that the Bhutto case was reopened after General Zia-ul-Haq’s martial law, however, the effects of the lack of justice directly affect the people.

He paid tribute to Benazir Bhutto’s democratic struggle and said that she played a significant role in restoring democracy in the country.

The President said that world leaders had also expressed concern over Bhutto’s trial, the strength of democracy is conditional on justice and all institutions must ensure compliance with the law and justice.

He further said that the Leader of the People empowered workers and farmers through historic agricultural and industrial reforms, and made national sovereignty inviolable by laying the foundation for the nuclear program.
