CM Sarfaraz Bugti Announces Strict Austerity Measures, Orders Immediate Withdrawal of Misused Government Vehicles

Quetta (HRNW)- An important review meeting on national austerity measures was held under the chairmanship of Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti, during which the provincial government took tough decisions to ensure the effective and transparent use of public resources.

It was decided in the meeting that government vehicles being used by unauthorized and unrelated persons will be withdrawn immediately. This includes vehicles in use by former governors, former chief ministers, ex-ministers, assembly members, officers, and other unauthorized officials.

According to the decisions taken:

  • All government vehicles will be audited, and fuel will only be issued to certified vehicles
  • A phased auction and rationalization of government vehicles manufactured before 2005 was approved
  • The use of official vehicles after office hours will be banned, and action will be taken against violators
  • Trackers will be installed in all government vehicles
  • A ban will be imposed on taking official vehicles outside the province
  • Their movement will be strictly monitored
  • Vehicle movement within the city will be tracked through Safe City cameras

Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti said that wastage of public resources will not be tolerated under any circumstances, and strict implementation of austerity measures will be ensured. He further clarified that action will be taken without discrimination against unnecessary use of government vehicles.
