Finance Minister Says Arrangements Complete for UAE Repayment and Eurobond Obligations

Islamabad (HRNW)- Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has said that all arrangements have been completed for the repayment of UAE and Eurobonds.

In an informal conversation with the media, the Finance Minister said that keeping in mind the current tense situation, it is necessary to prepare economic policies, foreign exchange reserves will be kept stable and economic measures will continue in accordance with the IMF targets.

Muhammad Aurangzeb said that all commitments made by Pakistan for timely payments will be fulfilled. Preparations for commercial financing and bond issuance are underway and discussions are being held with a consortium of banks in this regard.

He further said that preparations for the issuance of Panda Bonds will be resumed from the end of April. The government plans to issue Panda Bonds worth a total of $1 billion, and the financing targets of the current fiscal year will be met as per the commitment.

The Finance Minister said that since this is the first time that Pakistan is issuing Panda Bonds, it is taking time, and the impact of the tense situation in the region is also being assessed.

Muhammad Aurangzeb also said that the economy has been steered in the right direction through policies with the IMF, and important economic decisions and budget preparation will be made in the coming days.
