ISLAMABAD (HRNW): A major facility has been announced for solar energy consumers in the federal capital. The government has abolished the mandatory licensing requirement for solar net metering consumers with a capacity of 25 kW or less.
According to details, following the special directives of Federal Minister for Energy Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, the Power Division formally requested the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to exempt consumers with net metering installations of up to 25 kW from licensing restrictions.
NEPRA has approved the Power Division’s request, officially ending the license requirement for these small-scale solar users. Officials stated that this decision will provide significant relief to domestic and small commercial solar consumers while simultaneously supporting the promotion of renewable energy across the country.
