LAHORE (HRNW): On the appeal of Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, Emir of Jamat-e-Islami Pakistan, a nationwide day of protest has been announced for Friday, May 1, 2025. The protest is aimed at condemning the government’s recent “anti-people” solar policy, the continuous hike in petroleum prices, and the burden of inflated electricity bills.
Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman stated that the public is being crushed under the weight of historic inflation and unjust taxation. He criticized the government’s move to revise the solar policy, which he claims discourages renewable energy and further penalizes citizens trying to find relief from expensive grid electricity.
Jamat-e-Islami has called upon all segments of society, including traders, laborers, and the general public, to participate in the protest demonstrations following Friday prayers. The party leadership emphasized that the peaceful struggle will continue until the government withdraws the unfair price hikes and provides genuine relief to the masses.
