Jerusalem (HRNW)- Israel has claimed that it deployed an Iron Dome air defense system along with dozens of Israeli soldiers to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) during the recent regional conflict involving Iran.
According to reports published by The Jerusalem Post and other media outlets, the deployment was first reported on April 26 and was initially attributed to unnamed foreign sources. Israeli Transport Minister Miri Regev has now publicly confirmed the report.
Israeli officials said the decision to send the Iron Dome battery and interceptor missiles followed a telephone conversation between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
If the Israeli officials’ claims are accurate, this would mark the first operational deployment of Israel’s Iron Dome air defense system outside Israeli territory, representing a significant development in security cooperation between Israel and the UAE.
No official confirmation of the reported deployment has been issued by the UAE authorities.
