ISLAMABAD (HRNW): Pakistan has strongly rejected India’s latest allegations regarding the Pahalgam incident, describing them as “baseless, fabricated, and part of a persistent propaganda campaign.” The Foreign Office (FO) issued a stern response, stating that New Delhi is weaponizing a false narrative to sabotage regional peace and distract from its internal failures.
Response to Indian Propaganda:
The FO Spokesperson, Tahir Andrabi, stated that India is attempting to mislead the international community to serve its domestic political interests. He emphasized that New Delhi routinely levels unverified charges against Pakistan to provide a “smokescreen” for its own state-sponsored terrorism and the deteriorating human rights situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK).
Reference to Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos:
The spokesperson highlighted that after receiving a “befitting response” to its military adventurism last year through Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos (launched on May 10, 2025), India has resorted to a new conspiracy of misinformation. Pakistan maintains that these gimmicks cannot hide the reality of India’s aggressive military posturing and provocations.
Indus Waters Treaty and Global Concern:
The Foreign Office also condemned India’s unilateral and illegal move to hold the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT) in abeyance, calling it a blatant violation of international law.
-
Violation of Rights: The FO reiterated that denying Kashmiris their right to self-determination violates UN Security Council resolutions.
-
Threat to Stability: India’s inflammatory rhetoric and provocative actions are categorized as a severe threat to the stability of the entire region.
Call to the International Community:
Pakistan has urged the international community to hold India accountable for its “irresponsible behavior” and to call for an end to the negative propaganda. The spokesperson concluded that Pakistan remains committed to peace but will not allow Indian disinformation to go unchallenged on the global stage.
