Washington (HRNW)- Security officials were in a panic after a major accident near the Pentagon in the United States, and security was tightened in the Red Zone.
The accident occurred at around 7:20 am, but the causes of the accident could not be immediately determined. Emergency services, fire brigades and ambulances reached the scene of the accident as soon as the information was received and rescue operations began.
According to the Pentagon Force Protection Agency, Omni-Ride and Fairfax Connector buses collided on Metro Access Road, injuring 23 people, including 10 military personnel. The injured were transferred to nearby hospitals for medical examination and treatment, while 5 people were released after providing first aid on the spot.
Security officials say that an investigation into the incident has been launched, but the exact causes of the accident could not be revealed initially. Authorities have appealed to the public to avoid unnecessary travel to the affected area.
