Government Increases Petrol Levy Despite Falling Global Oil Prices

Islamabad (HRNW)- The government has once again deprived the people of relief by increasing the levy on petrol prices.

According to HRNW News, despite the continuous decline in global oil prices, the Pakistani people are still deprived of a significant reduction in the prices of petroleum products, while the government has increased the levy on petrol by slightly reducing the rates.

The government has made major changes in the levy rates by changing the prices of petroleum products for a week, according to which the petroleum levy on petrol has been increased by Rs 6.22 per liter.

After the increase, the levy rate on petrol has now been set at Rs 70.36 per liter.

Meanwhile, the government has reduced the petroleum levy rate on diesel by Rs 6.22 per liter, and the levy on high-speed diesel has been set at Rs 70.82 per liter.

In addition, the petroleum levy on kerosene has been maintained at Rs 20.36 per liter. Similarly, the carbon levy on petroleum products has also been maintained at Rs 5 per liter.
