PTI Leader Raises Concerns Over Delays and Cost Escalation in Karimabad Underpass Project

Karachi (HRNW)- Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Karachi Division General Secretary Arsalan Khalid visited the Karimabad Underpass project and expressed serious concern over the ongoing construction work, delays and substandard performance. He said that the project, which started in 2023, could not be completed despite the passage of three years, while initially it was to be completed in 10 months. According to him, the completion date of the project is being changed repeatedly but there is no practical progress.

Arsalan Khalid pointed out that the initial cost of the project has increased from Rs 1.35 billion to Rs 3.70 billion, on which he raised questions regarding transparency. He alleged that a significant portion of the public’s taxes are being wasted on delays and alleged mismanagement in the project, while citizens are facing daily traffic problems and difficulties.

He said that due to the construction work, the Karimabad area itself has become a center of traffic jams, which is causing severe damage to citizens, traders and business activities. Arsalan Khalid further said that this project is a clear example of mismanagement, incompetence and poor planning and the people of Karachi are constantly suffering from problems.

He reiterated the resolve that PTI will continue to raise its voice on public issues and continue to struggle to resolve the problems faced by citizens.
