Tehran (HRNW): According to unverified reports circulating in some media outlets, Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Brigade has issued a warning stating that if Israel or the United States takes any action during the alleged funeral of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, Iran would respond with what it described as a decisive and severe retaliation.
The statement reportedly warned that any hostile action during the alleged funeral proceedings would provoke a strong response, asserting that Iran would not compromise its sovereignty or national security.
The reports further claimed that funeral prayers would be held in Tehran, with representatives from more than 100 countries and several heads of state expected to attend. They also alleged that the funeral procession could draw more than 10 million participants.
According to the same unverified reports, the body would be transported from Tehran to Qom, then to Najaf and Karbala, before returning to Iran for burial in Mashhad. The reports also claimed that the body had been moved to Imam Khomeini Hussainiya in southern Tehran, where extensive security measures were reportedly in place.
