Muscat (HRNW)- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has arrived in Muscat, Oman, for the second leg of his three-nation diplomatic tour, where he is expected to hold important meetings on regional developments and ongoing tensions. In a statement posted on the social media platform X, Araqchi said that his recent visit to Pakistan was “very useful.”
He appreciated Pakistan’s efforts toward restoring peace in the region and stated that Iran values such initiatives. However, he also expressed reservations regarding the role of the United States, saying it remains to be seen whether Washington is genuinely committed to resolving conflicts through diplomacy.
Meanwhile, reference was made to remarks by former U.S. President Donald Trump, who reportedly canceled a planned delegation visit to Pakistan, describing it as an “unnecessary and wasteful trip.” He also stated that if Iran wished to engage in talks, it could do so via telephone, while questioning decision-making clarity within Iran.
