UAE Advisor Anwar Gargash Labels Iran as “Permanent Strategic Threat” at Global Policy Conference

Chantilly (HRNW)- UAE Presidential Advisor Anwar Gargash has described Iran as a permanent strategic threat to the region, stating that rebuilding trust with Tehran will take considerable time. Addressing a global policy conference in Chantilly, France, he said that mistrust in relations with Iran has significantly deepened and that restoring confidence in the current environment remains extremely difficult.

He further claimed that 89 percent of approximately 2,800 missile and drone attacks were directed at civilian populations, infrastructure, and energy systems, which he said pose a serious threat to regional stability. According to him, such developments have further increased regional distrust and reinforced perceptions of Iran as a long-term strategic threat.

Anwar Gargash emphasized that the United Arab Emirates continues to support peace, stability, and cooperation in the region, but stressed that security threats cannot be ignored.
