LPG Availability to Eliminate Peak-Time Power Load Management, Says Power Division Spokesperson

ISLAMABAD (HRNW): A spokesperson for the Power Division has announced that the availability of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) will lead to the complete elimination of electricity load management during peak hours.

Grid Stability and Power Transmission:

According to the spokesperson, the power transmission from the southern part of the country to the central regions remained steady, with approximately 400 MW being consistently supplied thanks to improved grid stability.

Recent Load Management Updates:

The Power Division clarified the situation regarding recent power outages:

  • Peak-Time Demand: Due to a sudden surge in demand during peak hours last night, power distribution companies (DISCOs) were forced to implement temporary load management ranging from 2 to 2.5 hours.

  • Economic Load Management: The spokesperson emphasized that “Economic Load Management” will continue as per policy on high-loss feeders across the country to maintain financial and technical balance.

Future Outlook:

With the integration of LNG into the power generation mix, the government expects the supply-demand gap to narrow significantly. The spokesperson assured that as fuel availability stabilizes, the necessity for peak-time power cuts for general consumers will be phased out, though strict measures will remain in place for areas with high line losses and low recovery rates.
