Washington (HRNW)- US President Donald Trump has dismissed reports suggesting a specific timeframe for a ceasefire or negotiations with Iran, stating that there is no fixed deadline for talks or any ceasefire agreement. Speaking in an interview with Fox News in Washington, Trump said that claims of a three-to-five-day deadline circulating in the media are false and baseless. He added that no new date has been set for discussions with Iran, nor has any final timeline been agreed upon to end the conflict. The President also rejected suggestions that he is seeking a quick resolution due to upcoming midterm elections, calling such claims untrue. Trump further stated that the US blockade in the Strait of Hormuz is increasing pressure on Iran and could influence developments, adding that Iran is more concerned about a blockade than military strikes. He also noted that although he had recently announced a pause in attacks on Iran and an extension of the ceasefire following requests reportedly made by Pakistan’s leadership, he has directed the US military to continue maintaining the blockade in the Strait of Hormuz.
