Two Ships Targeted Near Strait of Hormuz, Maritime Security Concerns Rise

Muscat/Gulf (HRNW)- Two different ships have been fired upon near the Strait of Hormuz, further worsening the maritime security situation. According to maritime sources, one ship reported that it was fired upon about 8 nautical miles west of the Iranian coast, but fortunately all crew members were safe and no casualties were reported.

Earlier, another cargo ship was fired upon about 15 nautical miles northeast of Oman, resulting in damage to the ship’s control room. According to sources, the affected ship, the MSC Francesca, was en route from Dammam to Singapore. According to the Iranian state news agency, the action was taken under the enforcement of maritime laws, and it was claimed that the ship in question ignored the issued warnings.

On the other hand, Gulf countries have expressed serious concern over these incidents and have called for reducing tensions in the region and securing sea routes.
