Tehran (HRNW)- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has taken a firm stance on the ongoing stalemate in ceasefire negotiations, accusing the United States of maintaining a rigid and obstructive position. In a statement shared on the social media platform X, the Iranian President outlined reasons for the suspension of ceasefire talks, alleging that the US continues to impose a naval blockade on Iran, issues repeated threats through President Donald Trump, and violates previously made commitments. He said these three factors are the main obstacles to meaningful and comprehensive negotiations, stressing that without addressing them, the ceasefire talks cannot resume. Pezeshkian further stated that Iran has consistently supported dialogue and agreement, and continues to do so, while criticizing what he described as contradictions between US statements and actions. Meanwhile, he referred to recent remarks attributed to President Trump, who reportedly said he would not launch an attack on Iran and that the ceasefire would remain extended until consensus is reached regarding the Strait of Hormuz between Iran’s political and military leadership.
