Swat (HRNW): The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Peshawar Zone has conducted a successful raid against an illegally operated travel agency in Barikot, District Swat, following a tip-off, resulting in the arrest of the agency’s owner.
According to the FIA, Abu Bakar Bacha, son of Mian Lumbar, owner of Bacha Air Travel Services, located on the third floor of Shams Plaza in Barikot, was arrested during the operation.
During the search, FIA officials recovered 12 Pakistani passports along with important documents belonging to various individuals. Authorities stated that the suspect failed to produce any legal authorization or valid license permitting him to retain the passports. Consequently, all recovered passports and documents were taken into custody in accordance with legal procedures.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect allegedly violated Section 6(g) of the Passport Act, 1974. A case has been registered against him, and further investigations are underway to determine the full scope of the alleged offence and identify any additional individuals who may have been affected.
The FIA has advised the public to use only licensed and authorized travel agencies for overseas employment, visa processing, and immigration services to avoid fraud, exploitation, and legal complications.
