Tehran (HRNW)- Iran’s acting defense minister has made it clear that the country’s defense capabilities, missile program, and drone technology are fundamental issues related to national security, which will not be negotiated with any country, including the United States.
According to foreign media reports, Iran’s acting defense minister Majid Ibn al-Reza said that the defense, missile, and drone capabilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran are red lines of national security and that no negotiation or compromise is possible on them at any stage.
He said that Iran will not only maintain its current defense system but will also continue to modernize and strengthen its missile and drone programs in the future.
Majid Ibn al-Reza said that Iran’s defense strength is a guarantee of the country’s sovereignty and security, so this issue cannot be made part of any international negotiations.
His statement came at a time when talks are underway between Iran and the United States on various technical and diplomatic issues. However, Iranian officials have consistently stressed that the scope of the talks will be limited to the agreed-upon topics and that there will be no compromise on defense capabilities.
According to political observers, Iran’s stance shows that although diplomatic contacts are ongoing between the two countries, defense and military matters remain non-negotiable for Tehran.
Experts say that Iran’s missile and drone programs have been the focus of attention of Western countries and many countries in the region for the past few years, while Tehran considers them an integral part of its defense strategy.
According to analysts, Iran’s latest statement is also an important signal for the upcoming US-Iran talks, as it makes it clear that Tehran is not ready to change its stance on matters related to national security.
