Tehran (HRNW)- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has accused Israel of attempting to undermine ceasefire negotiations and prevent the implementation of an understanding between Iran and the United States.
According to Iran’s state news agency IRNA, Araqchi said Israel was the biggest obstacle to implementing the agreement and had made efforts both to prevent it from being reached and to obstruct its implementation.
Araqchi also rejected former US President Donald Trump’s reported demand for Iran’s unconditional surrender, saying such a demand could not be accepted. He claimed Iran ultimately agreed to a ceasefire on its own terms and entered negotiations with Washington only after its conditions were taken into consideration.
The Iranian foreign minister further claimed that countries initially demanding Iran’s unconditional surrender later sought negotiations themselves. He said Tehran did not rush toward a ceasefire and continued its resistance until what Iran considered acceptable conditions for a ceasefire and negotiations were met.
The allegations were reported by Iranian state media, and no response from Israel was included in the report.
