Ban on New Gas Connections Reinstated Across Pakistan Amid LNG Crisis

Lahore (HRNW)- It has been decided to impose a ban once again on the provision of new gas connections for domestic and commercial consumers across the country. According to sources, the Ministry of Petroleum has decided that new gas connections will not be issued for the time being. This ban will apply to all types of consumers.

Sources say that the ban on the provision of new gas connections in the past was lifted a few months ago, but now it is being reinstated. It has been told that the new connections were being provided through expensive Regasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG), due to which this decision was taken.

According to the Ministry of Petroleum, this step has been taken in view of the current LNG crisis. Officials say that if the situation improves in the next two weeks, applications will be received again, however, if the crisis persists, consideration can also be given to making the ban permanent.
