US Announces Phased Closure of Peshawar Consulate, Diplomatic Affairs Shift to Islamabad

Peshawar (HRNW)- The US State Department has announced the phased closure of the US Consulate in Peshawar. According to the statement issued, the responsibility for diplomatic affairs related to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will now be transferred to the US Embassy in Islamabad.

According to the State Department, the purpose of this decision is to improve the security of diplomatic staff and ensure the effective use of resources. The statement said that despite this organizational change, there will be no change in US policy towards Pakistan, and the United States will continue to engage with the people and local authorities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and provide economic support.
