Budget 2026-27: Pakistan Weighs Salary and Pension Hikes for Government Employees

Lahore (HRNW)- The possibility of increasing the salaries and pensions of government employees is being shown in the budget for the next fiscal year in Pakistan. According to sources, the Ministry of Finance is considering the budget proposals, however, no final announcement has been made in this regard yet.

A proposal to increase the salaries of government employees by about 7 percent and pensions by 5 percent is under consideration. Government sources say that various options are being considered to provide relief to the salaried class from the effects of inflation. According to experts, if this increase is approved, thousands of government employees and pensioners across the country will benefit from it, however, the final decision will be made keeping in mind the government’s fiscal policy and budget capacity.
