Karachi (HRNW): A 10-year-old child selling flowers was injured after a security guard opened fire at Zulfiqar Commercial in the Defense Housing Authority (DHA) area.
According to the police, the incident occurred following a heated argument between the guard and the child. Witnesses reported that the security guard shot the child, who was immediately rushed to the hospital for medical treatment. Following the shooting, bystanders apprehended the suspect, subjected him to physical violence, and subsequently handed him over to the police.
Law enforcement officials confirmed that the security guard has been arrested and shifted to the police station along with the weapon used in the incident. During initial interrogation, the guard claimed that the child “harassed” him daily. He further alleged that he had fired the shot at the ground and that the bullet ricocheted, accidentally hitting the boy. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.
