Tel Aviv (HRNW)- Israel’s Defense Minister has warned that the ongoing tensions with Iran could escalate into open conflict again, saying the situation could deteriorate rapidly if Israel perceives a serious threat to its national security.
According to international media reports, the Israeli defense minister said that Israel would not wait for external approval or permission if it believed its national security was at risk.
He stated that Israel reserves the right to make independent decisions regarding its defense and that, if necessary, military action would be taken at the time it considers appropriate.
The remarks come as diplomatic efforts continue between the United States and Iran to reduce tensions. Contacts are also ongoing at various levels regarding a possible ceasefire and broader negotiations aimed at easing instability in the region.
