Washington (HRNW)- US Vice President JD Vance has said that technical talks between the United States and Iran are continuing and are progressing as part of the ongoing diplomatic process.
Speaking to the media, Vance said that technical contacts and negotiations between Washington and Tehran are aimed at advancing previously agreed issues and maintaining momentum in the diplomatic process.
Commenting on Iran’s public denial of possible talks in Doha, the US vice president said that, in his view, such statements are part of a negotiation strategy, which he described as a “Persian style of negotiations.”
Vance added that the current technical discussions do not represent the beginning of a new phase but are a continuation of the diplomatic engagement already underway, with both sides remaining in contact on various technical matters.
His remarks come after Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghai recently stated that formal negotiations on a comprehensive agreement with the United States have not yet begun. However, Iran has confirmed that it is sending an expert delegation to Doha this week for technical discussions related to the implementation of the memorandum of understanding.
