Trump Weighs Military Option Against Iran but Prioritizes Diplomacy, Report Says

Washington (HRNW)- US President Donald Trump has reportedly considered the possibility of resuming full-scale military action against Iran but has decided to continue diplomatic negotiations for the time being.

According to a report by The Wall Street Journal, President Trump discussed the possibility of additional airstrikes against Iran during several recent meetings with his advisers.

The report states that the US administration reviewed a range of military and diplomatic options to determine its future strategy amid the evolving situation in the Middle East.

While further military action was reportedly considered, the report says the US president has, at this stage, chosen to prioritize diplomatic engagement and seek progress through negotiations.

The development comes as technical contacts and diplomatic efforts between the United States and Iran continue following the memorandum of understanding. Despite recent regional tensions, both countries have maintained communication through various diplomatic channels.

Analysts say the administration’s decision to continue pursuing diplomacy is being viewed as an effort to prevent further escalation in the Middle East. They add that future developments will largely depend on the progress of negotiations and the actions of both sides.

The White House has not yet issued an official response to the Wall Street Journal report.
