Washington (HRNW)- The United States has declared Pakistan an important and reliable partner in ongoing counterterrorism efforts, particularly in the fight against ISIS-K in the region.

While briefing a US Senate committee, Admiral Brad Cooper, head of the US Central Command (CENTCOM), said that Pakistan plays a key role in regional counterterrorism operations and remains a dependable ally in combating extremist threats.

The CENTCOM chief stated that the strong military partnership between Islamabad and Washington has produced tangible results against terrorists, adding that these mutual successes reflect the long-standing friendship and shared commitment between Pakistan and the United States.

Admiral Cooper further said that Central Asian countries are also closely monitoring terrorism threats emerging from Afghanistan, noting that Afghanistan continues to remain at the top of Washington’s watch list due to the continued presence of terrorist groups and regional security concerns.
