Iran Restricts Passage of Foreign Military Equipment Through Strait of Hormuz

Tehran (HRNW)- Iran has announced that it will no longer allow military weapons and equipment from “enemy countries” to pass through the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

Iran’s First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref said in a statement that in the past Iran had exercised leniency over its control of the Strait of Hormuz, allowing military shipments to pass that were later used against it. He said this policy would no longer continue.

He added that Iran will now take strict measures to protect its national security and regional interests, and will not permit the transit of any military equipment that could benefit hostile forces.
