Trump Warns Iran Over Ceasefire Deal as Tehran Expresses Deep Distrust in US Intentions

Washington (HRNW)- US President Donald Trump has warned Iran to move quickly toward a ceasefire agreement, saying it would be in Iran’s own interest to sign a peace deal without delay.

According to the World News Agency, the statement came after Trump’s return from his China visit, during which no breakthrough was achieved on a possible Iran peace arrangement. Trump said Iran should “act quickly” or face “very bad consequences,” stressing that there is no room for further delays in negotiations.

He further stated that reaching an agreement soon would be beneficial for Iran, while failure to do so could lead to worsening conditions.

In response, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that Tehran has received messages from the Trump administration regarding renewed talks, but Iran continues to have “serious mistrust” over US intentions. He said past negotiations had failed because, according to Iran, the US conducted attacks during earlier diplomatic efforts, undermining trust in the process.

The exchange highlights ongoing tensions between Washington and Tehran despite renewed diplomatic signals from both sides.
