Islamabad (HRNW) – Federal Ombudsman for Anti-Harassment Fawzia Waqar met Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Yahya Afridi in Islamabad, where matters related to gender justice, workplace dignity, and protection against harassment were discussed in detail.
According to reports, the meeting focused on institutional mechanisms aimed at ensuring protection against workplace harassment. Federal Ombudsman Fawzia Waqar briefed the Chief Justice about the role and mandate of her institution and highlighted efforts to create safe and inclusive working environments in both public and private institutions.
During the discussion, both sides emphasized enhancing institutional coordination for the effective implementation of workplace harassment laws. Special attention was given to increasing awareness regarding legal remedies available to victims and improving institutional responses for vulnerable and marginalized groups in society.
The Chief Justice reaffirmed the judiciary’s commitment to upholding constitutional values of equality, dignity, and non-discrimination. He stressed the importance of maintaining safe, respectful, and inclusive professional environments within institutions.
Federal Ombudsman Fawzia Waqar appreciated the judiciary’s reform initiatives and its continued efforts toward promoting gender justice in the country.
