Jerusalem (HRNW)- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has strongly denied social media reports claiming he was killed in an Iranian attack, releasing a video statement on the platform X to dismiss the rumors.
In the Hebrew-language video, Netanyahu described the death claims as a “lie” and said he was simply “dying for coffee.” He was seen ordering and drinking coffee at a café reportedly located in the Jerusalem Hills, according to Israeli media.
The video, titled “They Say What I Am,” showed Netanyahu expressing appreciation for the Israeli people, stating that he loves his nation and admires the way citizens are handling the current situation. He also addressed online claims about his fingers, raising both hands and saying, “Do you want to count my fingers?” clarifying that he has 10 fingers, after earlier social media posts alleged otherwise.
In his message to the public, Netanyahu advised Israelis to spend time outdoors for fresh air but to remain close to shelters at all times due to ongoing threats of ballistic missiles from Iran and rocket attacks from Lebanon.
Earlier, rumors on social media claimed that Netanyahu had been killed in an Iranian strike and was absent from a press conference. The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office promptly denied those reports, though Netanyahu himself had not initially responded publicly. During the period of rumors, Iran had reportedly warned that if Netanyahu were alive, he would be considered a target.
The situation comes amid heightened regional tensions and continued military exchanges across the Middle East.
