Washington/Tehran (HRNW)- US Energy Secretary Chris Wright has suggested that the ongoing war with Iran could end within the next few weeks, stating that oil supplies may return to normal and energy prices could decline once the conflict subsides.
According to a foreign news agency report, Wright expressed optimism about a near-term resolution. However, three informed sources said the Trump administration rejected efforts by Middle Eastern allies to initiate diplomatic talks. At the same time, Iran has reportedly made it clear that it will not agree to any ceasefire unless US and Israeli attacks stop, further reducing hopes for an early end to the conflict.
On the other hand, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi stated that Tehran has never requested a ceasefire and has not sought negotiations. He said there is no reason to talk to the US, adding that discussions were ongoing when attacks began. Araqchi described the situation as a “war of will” and said Iran will continue defending itself.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump said that Iran wants to make a deal, but he does not consider current conditions suitable for negotiations.
The statements reflect ongoing diplomatic tensions amid continued regional instability.
