Air India’s Annual Loss Crosses $2 Billion Amid Middle East Crisis and Airspace Restrictions

New Delhi (HRNW)- Air India’s annual loss has exceeded $2 billion due to the ongoing crisis in the Middle East and the closure of Pakistan’s airspace.

According to an Express News report, concerns over the weakening Indian economy and declining investor confidence have further increased due to the policies of the Modi government. A report by Air India’s shareholder Singapore Airlines has also highlighted the declining performance of Indian aviation.

According to the foreign news agency Reuters, Air India is facing severe financial pressure as tensions in the Middle East continue and Pakistan’s airspace restrictions affect international routes.

The report states that in recent months, Air India has suspended several international flights, while investment in the airline has also seen a sharp decline. Its annual profit has reportedly fallen by 57.4 percent and is expected to decline further.

Experts say the airline industry in India is facing major operational challenges due to regional geopolitical conditions. However, the situation has also intensified broader financial pressures on the aviation sector.
