Pakistan Clarifies Presence of Iranian Aircraft, Rejects ‘Sensational’ CBS Report

ISLAMABAD (HRNW) – Pakistan’s Foreign Office has issued a detailed statement regarding reports about the presence of Iranian aircraft in Pakistan, strongly rejecting a CBS News report describing it as misleading and sensational.

According to the statement issued by the Foreign Office spokesperson, speculative reports regarding Iranian aircraft at Nur Khan Airbase appear to be an attempt to undermine ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at peace and regional stability.

The Foreign Office clarified that several Iranian and American aircraft arrived in Pakistan after the ceasefire and during the early stages of Islamabad talks to facilitate the movement of diplomatic staff, security teams, and administrative personnel connected to the negotiation process.

The statement added that some aircraft and support staff temporarily remained in Pakistan in anticipation of future phases of negotiations.

According to the spokesperson, although formal negotiations have not yet resumed, high-level diplomatic contacts have continued, and existing administrative and logistical facilities were used during visits of the Iranian Foreign Minister to Islamabad.

The Foreign Office emphasized that the Iranian aircraft present in Pakistan during the ceasefire had no connection with any military emergency or security arrangement. It said all claims suggesting otherwise are speculative, misleading, and contrary to facts.

The statement further reiterated that Pakistan has consistently played the role of a neutral, constructive, and responsible facilitator for dialogue and de-escalation efforts in the region. In this capacity, Pakistan provided routine logistical and administrative support while maintaining transparent communication with all relevant stakeholders.

The Foreign Office reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting sincere diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting peace, stability, and security in the region and across the world.
