Islamabad (HRNW)- Turkey has expressed its willingness to support Pakistan in the privatization and reform of its power sector, with the two countries signing three new cooperation agreements on June 25.
Speaking on the occasion, Turkish Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar said Turkey will share its expertise with Pakistan in power sector reforms, transmission and distribution networks, monitoring systems, and electricity market operations.
Under the agreements, Pakistan and Turkey will also cooperate in the fields of professional training, capacity building, electricity market development, and digitalization. Officials said the partnership aims to make Pakistan’s energy sector more efficient, transparent, and sustainable.
Energy experts believe that benefiting from Turkey’s experience could help Pakistan reduce electricity losses, improve the efficiency of its power system, and attract greater investment in the energy sector, contributing positively to the country’s overall economy.
