Islamabad (HRNW)- Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik has said that the government will review international price trends for petrol and diesel during the current week, after which a decision will be made regarding the next course of action.
Speaking in Islamabad, the Petroleum Minister said the government is not giving preference to any particular sector and has not adopted a policy of placing an unnecessary burden on any segment of society. He added that decisions are being made in light of ground realities and developments in the global oil market.
Ali Pervaiz Malik also said that the Prime Minister has so far reduced the price of diesel by Rs200 per litre and the price of petrol by Rs155 per litre. He reiterated that the government would take a final decision on fuel prices after conducting a detailed review of international market trends this week.
According to government sources, providing relief to the public while maintaining economic stability remains one of the government’s key priorities, and further developments regarding petroleum prices are expected in the coming days.
