Karachi Court Sentences Man to 20 Years in Prison in Murder and Sexual Assault Case

Karachi (HRNW)- An Additional District and Sessions Court in Karachi has sentenced an accused, Farhan, to a total of 20 years in prison in a case involving the sexual assault and killing of a young girl in the city’s Lyari area. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 100,000 on the convicted man. According to court remarks, the charges were proven through CCTV footage and DNA evidence, which played a key role in establishing the accused’s involvement in the crime.

According to details presented during the proceedings, the accused was known to the victim’s household and reportedly visited the residence for electrical work. The prosecution argued that during one such visit in January 2022, the accused committed the crime and later attempted to conceal evidence by staging the incident to appear as a suicide. The court, after reviewing the available evidence and testimonies, handed down the sentence in line with the findings of the investigation and prosecution.

The case has once again highlighted the importance of timely justice, protection of vulnerable individuals, and stronger community support systems. Support for humanitarian and social welfare initiatives can be made at:
