Lahore (HNRW)- A sessions court has sentenced a man to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 1 million for the murder of his sister-in-law, Ayesha, on the night of her Mehndi ceremony.
The verdict was announced by Lahore Additional Sessions Judge Fayyaz-ul-Hassan in the case involving the murder of Ayesha. After reviewing the evidence, witness testimonies, and arguments presented by both sides, the court found the accused, Ikram Tufail, guilty and awarded him life imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 1 million.
During the trial, the complainant’s counsel, Muhammad Imran Advocate, presented statements from a total of 28 witnesses, which were included in the official case record.
According to the prosecution, the accused Ikram Tufail was in love with the deceased Ayesha. Following detailed proceedings and examination of the evidence, the court concluded that the charges against the accused had been proven and handed down the sentence.
The verdict brings a significant development in a case that drew public attention due to the tragic circumstances surrounding the murder on the eve of a family wedding celebration.
