Karachi (HRNW)- The Sindh High Court heard multiple petitions regarding the recovery of missing persons and issued notices to the Sindh Home Department, Inspector General Sindh Police, Director General Rangers, and other relevant parties.
The court directed all concerned respondents to submit their replies by August 6.
During the hearing, counsel for the petitioners stated that a citizen, Muhammad Ayub, resident of Gulistan-e-Johar, has been missing since June 9. Advocate Purwar Chandio informed the court that the individual was allegedly taken from his home by personnel in police and plain clothes.
He further stated that the relevant police station has not provided any information regarding the missing person and that law enforcement officials are not cooperating with the family.
The counsel also informed the court that police authorities are not even willing to listen to the grievances of the affected families.
In another case, it was submitted that Imam Bakhsh Khaskheli from Sujawal has also remained untraced for a prolonged period. According to the petitioners, unidentified individuals allegedly picked him up from his residence, and his whereabouts are still unknown.
The court has sought detailed responses from all concerned authorities, while further proceedings will continue after submission of replies.
