Washington (HRNW)- Hunter Biden, son of former US President Joe Biden, has said that his father is battling advanced cancer that has spread to his bones and other parts of the body.
Speaking in an interview with the BBC, Hunter Biden became emotional while discussing his father’s health and described cancer as an extremely difficult and painful disease.
Hunter Biden said the cancer has spread to his father’s bones and other areas of his body, adding that the disease has become painful and debilitating.
He described Joe Biden as the center of their family and said his father remains a loving father, husband and grandfather. Hunter Biden also expressed a wish that his father would speak more openly about his health, saying that Joe Biden generally does not complain about his illness.
Joe Biden disclosed in May 2025, several months after leaving office, that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer that had spread to his bones.
His spokesperson later said in October that the former president was receiving radiation and hormone therapy as part of his treatment.
According to the BBC, the 83-year-old Joe Biden declined to comment on Hunter Biden’s latest remarks concerning his health.
Joe Biden served as vice president under Barack Obama from 2009 to 2017 before becoming president of the United States from 2020 to 2024. He also attended an event involving Obama in Chicago in June.
