Chilas (HRNW)- The extraction and transportation of pozzolan material from the Gini area of Diamer have commenced as part of preparations for the next phase of construction of the Diamer Bhasha Dam.
Following processing, the pozzolan material will be used in the Roller-Compacted Concrete (RCC) works of the main dam. The laying of RCC for the main dam is expected to begin soon.
Arrangements for the extraction and transportation of the material were finalized in accordance with the directives of the WAPDA Chairman and the Chief Secretary of Gilgit-Baltistan.
The supply of pozzolan from Gini marks an important step toward advancing the next stage of the main dam’s construction. Officials also reviewed the formal start of the extraction and transportation operations.
Project management and the district administration expressed their commitment to strengthening coordination and cooperation to accelerate construction activities and ensure the smooth movement of materials.
Local elders and religious scholars also reiterated their commitment to extending full cooperation and support for the timely completion of the Diamer Bhasha Dam.
