Muzaffarabad (HRNW): The Election Commission of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has clarified that the general elections will be held as per schedule on July 27.
According to the Election Commission spokesperson, the electoral schedule was issued on June 5 in line with constitutional and legal requirements related to the completion of the Assembly’s term. The spokesperson rejected speculation regarding any delay in the elections, calling such reports baseless.
The spokesperson further stated that the election schedule has been issued strictly in accordance with constitutional and legal provisions, and any insinuations of bad intent are unfounded. He added that free, fair, and transparent elections will be ensured in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
