Karachi (HRNW) – An attempt to smuggle gutka and chalia under the guise of transporting grass has been foiled by Site Super Highway Police during an early morning operation near Ahsanabad. According to details, the police recovered large quantities of harmful ready-made gutka and more than five maunds of chalia during the raid.
The smugglers reportedly attempted to transport the illegal goods to a cattle market using a Suzuki vehicle fitted with fake number plates to avoid detection. Police recovered approximately 210 kg of chalia, ready-made gutka, and counterfeit number plates from the vehicle bearing registration KW-0401, which was also taken into custody.
A case has been registered against the vehicle owner under the Sindh Gutka Act, and further investigation is underway to identify others involved in the smuggling network.
