PIA Board Chairman Aslam R. Khan Passes Away in Karachi After Prolonged Illness

KARACHI (HRNW)- Aslam R. Khan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), has passed away after a prolonged illness, according to PIA officials.

Officials stated that Aslam R. Khan had been unwell for several days and was shifted to a private hospital in Karachi a few days ago, where he was receiving treatment.

Aslam R. Khan had been associated with PIA for nearly six decades and was widely regarded within the organization as a guiding and respected figure. His leadership played a significant role in the airline’s restructuring efforts and initiatives aimed at restoring profitability.

According to PIA officials, the late chairman was known for making timely and difficult decisions when required and also actively supported employee welfare and organizational development.

PIA Chief Executive Officer expressed deep sorrow over his passing, stating that the entire PIA family is mourning the loss of a leader whose contributions to the national airline were invaluable. He added that it was an honor to work alongside such a distinguished personality and prayed for the elevation of the deceased’s ranks.

The funeral prayer of Aslam R. Khan will be offered after Friday prayers at his residence in Khayaban Ghazi, Defence Housing Authority (DHA), Karachi.
