Karachi Port Sets Historic National Record with Over 2.65 Million TEUs Handled

KARACHI (HRNW)- Karachi Port has achieved a historic milestone by setting a new national record for container handling before the close of the fiscal year 2025-26.

According to official details, more than 2.651 million TEUs (Twenty-foot Equivalent Units) were handled at Karachi Port before the end of the current fiscal year, making it the highest container throughput ever recorded by a port in Pakistan.

Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Junaid Anwar Chaudhry said that Karachi Port has emerged as the largest container-handling port in the country’s history. He described the achievement as a strong indicator of growing business confidence in Pakistan’s maritime and logistics sectors.

The minister stated that the record-breaking performance reflects increased trade activity, improved port operations, and the confidence of importers, exporters, and shipping companies in the country’s maritime infrastructure.

Officials believe that the milestone will further strengthen Karachi Port’s position as a key gateway for Pakistan’s international trade and contribute positively to economic and commercial growth.
