Islamabad (HRNW): Sindh Senior Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has alleged that the alleged irregularities of the 2024 general elections were repeated during the elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
Speaking to the media in Islamabad, Sharjeel Memon claimed that the governments in Punjab and at the federal level were formed through Form-47, and described the developments in the AJK elections as a “Form-47 plus” operation.
He alleged that there was coordination between the federal and Punjab governments to defeat the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). He said that what happened on February 8, 2024, was repeated in Kashmir, claiming that the recent election process went beyond previous controversies.
Sharjeel Memon further alleged that the current governments came into power through a “charity mandate” and criticized the statements of federal ministers, saying their press conferences reflected arrogance rather than regret. He added that such an approach would not continue for long and that the public was aware of how elections were conducted.
He accused the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) of involvement in alleged irregularities during the Azad Kashmir elections, stating that complaints regarding the elections, particularly in the Mirpur Division, were submitted to the Election Commission but no action was taken.
Sharjeel Memon said that the PPP would continue to raise its concerns through democratic and legal channels. He added that the party’s approach would not involve abusive language or confrontation but would rely on arguments and relevant forums.
